Akari Japanese - Surrey

Great Japanese restaurant. They have fast service too. Besides that, their servings are huge. Food was served fast and it was all filling. I love Salmon Kama and I think they make the best one too. We will surely be back!

I love dining at Akari. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, friendly staff, and the food is superb quality. I highly recommend visiting this place - I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed.

I have found my new favorite sushi restaurant in Surrey. I have ordered takeout from here several times, but nothing compares to eating the sushi fresh in the restaurant. The service was excellent and the Fantastic Roll truly lived up to its name. The wild salmon sashimi was incredibly fresh and the cream cheese salmon roll was perfectly balanced - the best I've ever had. As someone who grew up in Richmond and knows good sushi, I can say that this place is top-notch. The prawn tempura was crispy and delicious with a light breading that was just right. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu soon!

The staff at this cozy neighborhood restaurant are very friendly, offering both table seating and tatami rooms. Making a reservation online is simple. They checked our vaccine passports/photo IDs upon arrival. The menu is extensive, so we ended up ordering more than we could finish. However, everything was tasty and beautifully presented. We highly recommend trying the Awesome Roll, which lived up to its name with crunchy bits and popcorn shrimp. Our tea was refilled several times throughout the meal. We have been dining in and getting takeout from this spot for over 20 years, and the quality has always been consistent. The restaurant is conveniently located in a strip mall near Scott and 72nd with plenty of parking available.

What a fantastic sushi spot! The ambiance is lovely, so I highly recommend dining in. The food was fresh and delicious, with generous portions, AND sliced correctly (no gagging on ultra thick sashimi here . The lunch bentos were an excellent value; they come with a special of the day (it was a salmon cake when we dined there . *TIP* They swap out the special for agedashi tofu in the vegetarian bento, so if you're not interested in whatever it is when you go, you could probably ask for the tofu instead. Tea was very nice, in a good sized (and cute! mug, and they kept it coming Service was great as well, and everything came very quickly. Bottom line: this is my new favourite sushi spot in North Delta/Surrey.
