Batts Grill - Surf City

This is the best place to eat when you are on the island the people are very nice and the place is very clean. we always eat there when ever we are there on vacation. we know one of the girl's that work's there and she is real nice to us and she has become our friend as well. we have not seen her in two years but that is okay. the place is still good to eat at every one needs to try the pork chop's you can cut them with a butter knife and the sweet tea is to die for we always get a glass to go.if it was not so for to drive to we would eat there every night, and the prices are great any one can afford to eat there.

Yea, for the last review,,,true true...ask for lemons on 1st shift u won't get any or say they are out, but ask 2nd they will try to get you some or find some mysteriously out on 1st shift. And it was a weekend NO DELIVERIES....Language of some of the women customers could use some improvement TRUE..customers have left..the restaurant with one regular Northerner a man)and the local women regulars talking said they were disgusted at the talk in the restaurant by customers. Talk in the kitchen is questionable true cussing all the time yelling at the waitresses, when they are busy themselves and can't jump at the exact moment because of being on a register or waiting on a table. Redheaded cook is the one yelling all the time...I think she has a mental problem.though...food is blah blah. One young guy seems to care that works in the kitchen and another guy helping out in the restaurant..and the waitresses on second are the greatest..the others on other shifts tend to smoke outside the restaurant or too interested in their cell phones....the older waitress on 1st is a very considerate person and caring.

This restaurant is a good place to eat some of the regulars are loud, foul language, and think since they know the owner they can do anything. Several customers have left while suck foul talk, and these are women. The kitchen you can hear them in the restaurant cussing and fussing at each other and the waitresses, just do their job and go outside to fume and fuss. The food is good, the atmosphere is sometimes questionable for families. Old men go in the kitchen all the time, strange behavior, but that is Batts Grill.

Solid value...old timey...prices edging up though..
