Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant offers a variety of dishes commonly found in the Indian subcontinent, including pooree, parathas, and curries. The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. Plus, everything tastes delicious!
We have been using Ruchi for a few weeks now. It is probably the best takeaway Indian we have tried over the recent past. What I do like is the flavour of the food which for us cannot be beaten by other takeaways in Sunderland. I have noticed now though as we are trying the menu and going back to meals we have enjoyed that the result has not been the same. Still okay, don't get me wrong but when you have had a nice meal with a particular flavour I expect to get the same again. Not another take on that meal. Is it down to a different person making that meal, possibly but to be honest that should not be the case as there should be a recipe standard and meals be the same regardless of who is cooking.
Decided to give this a try as my usual local has gone downhill and I was always a regular when Akloo had it as Curry Express. Ordered a Sunday 5 course special. Got tandoori mixed starter which was delicious. Had Sri Lankan tikka chicken with garlic pilau and special nan. Whole meal was full of flavour and nicely spiced. I'm so pleased I've rediscovered this place, I'm now a regular.
Probably the best Indian take away in the North East of England. Recently under new management with a makeover, the premises have been undated but the food remains excellent.
I have been purchasing a meal from this restaurant every Sunday night for years, so I thought it was time to write a review. The staff is friendly and polite, and the food is delicious. They always prepare it to our liking, and there is plenty for two people. The Sunday special, which includes 5 courses, is priced at £9.50, making it an excellent value. I highly recommend it.
