La Piazzetta - STRESA

Dreadful. Avoid at all costs. Worst service I’ve ever had. It was a busy evening but the majority of waiting staff were only focussed on turning tables. Not actual service. After ordering, we were given a cold bottle of red wine. When I complained, I was told it was because it was hot outside…(well then keep it temperature controlled, not in the fridge with the white! the glass and bottle actually had condensation on the outside because of how cold the wine was! They the. took the wine away and provided no alternative just saying that all the red wine is cold. When I tried to get the wine back and suggest alternatives like decanting to help it warm up faster one of the waiters just told us to leave. This was as our daughter was being served her pizza. My wife’s dinner actually got put down and then picked up and taken away! When I explained that we would not leave because my six year old was too hungry to find an alternative restaurant they let us stay but my food then took another 15 minutes to be served by when my fried which had come first were stone cold. The rest of the meal we were left unattended and when we asked for another bottle of water it didn’t even come. Will never return.

Great restaurant, well situated in the middle of the main square in Stresa. Busy atmosphere but still able to talk to each other. Food was delicious and came really quickly. Our waiter wasn’t the friendliest but it could have been the language barrier and didn’t stop us having a great time! Would definitely recommend

The food is good, and you can't beat the prices. Beautiful outdoor location. Service was very good. Pasta cooks perfectly.

Sat in the restaurant in the moment as staying in Stresa for a week, the food is really nice tried to order a desert and the service was terrible it’s like they can’t wait to get rid of it’s a shame as really enjoyed the food so 3 stars
