Bidra med feedbackMy first visit to Ottawa demanded a trip for a burger and a beer This place rocks.
Great atmosphere. Awesome craft beer selection...Best we've seen in Ottawa. Should have ate here too. Highly recommended. We will be back. Cheers!
I'm so happy I stumbled upon Brothers Beer Bistro while in Ottawa.
Me and my girlfriend just came from this restaurant and needed to share our experience with future customers. The term restaurant is in between apostrophes, because thats what they want you to believe it is, but to be honest, it's the worst thing that has ever happened to food. To start with the interior, that is something straight out of a kitsch brothel in Albania, with its plastic design chairs and white eye blinding lightning. We just came from Italy, so we might be kind of prejudged, but i can't imagine that the people who have rated this restaurant before have had a proper meal in ages. Like i said, when we entered the place, we saw the interior and almost had a stroke. We should have been warned by the ambiance, but since we already had a reservation based on the tripadvisor ratings, we felt obliged to stay and suffer through this experience. We had a white wine, which, to be honest, was pretty decent. If your planning on ordering one thing from the menu and then run as far as you can, take the cheapest white wine, half a liter will do.Then the amuse. Some watermelon juice with a spoon of paturain. Why someone would consider this to be an amuse is a complete mystery to us.Since we we're only half hungry, considering the fact that we had a (compared to this meal) delicious McDonalds lunch on the way from Venice to Strassbourg, we decided to only take a main course from the menu. Small note; the menu stated that all ingredients we're fresh, a note which we will discuss later.I ordered the Margret de Canard and my girlfriend had the Filet de Boeuf. Two of the easiest dishes from the french kitchen, so we we're quite certain we would be enjoying a decent meal. For side dishes we had the legumes de saison, the tagiatelli and potatoes, which they gave some kind of potato ranch baked potatoes name, or something, which were just badly baked fat fries..Starting with the Margret de canard. I really like duck. I would have probably eaten a live one if it wasn't so frowned upon in a restaurant. But this was horrible. I feel for the poor duck who was molested in this way. It was drenched in some kind of incompatible greasy sauce and way undercooked. If you think this is bad, you should have tasted my girlfriends Filet de Boeuf. It might have been the most sour piece of meat in the history of men. Why someone would think this is the right way to cook a, in principle, good piece of meat will remain one of the biggest mysteries of our time. All the other side dishes came straight out of the freezer and into the microwave. Especially the ' fresh season legumes' we're absolutely horrifying. This has nothing to do with fresh food. This is honestly the first time i've ever told a waitress that i didn't like a meal. There wasn't even a small excuse, even though i told her that i wasn't blaming her, but she should definitly tell the chef (again, in between apostrophes.) The arrogance in which she replied to my complaints defined my whole experience, in a mad ugly place, in which shabby looking people we're stuffing their faces with all you can eat carpaccio. Literally one of the most weird dishes to make an 'all you can eat'-offer for. Gross. So in short; i've never wrote a bad review on a restaurant before, but please, don't waste your money on this place. This has been the worst dining experience of my life. Try every other restaurant in the world.
Really great price-performance ratio. great meat kitchen, service is very dedicated. kitchen puts value on optics!
