Bidra med feedbackTip Top Cafe is a long standing San Antonio establishment. They are famous for their plate sized Chicken Fried Steak, stack of fried onion rings, baked short ribs, and their pies are delicious. But, be sure to go early. We went for dinner at 5:00 pm and they were out of mashed potatoes, mac and chesse, the green beans tasted like they had been simmering on the stove for awhile and a very limited selection of pies. It was Lobor Day and they had a huge lunch crowd we were told and it seem like everyone was tired, even the food.
Service was great, and our food was very good, onion rings are very good, didn't have dessert cause we got full on our lunch but will be back for dessert for sure the dessert box look so good with all the different pies
Real home made food.no frozen items.everything was excellent here.i would highly recommend this place.anytime day or night.the service is a hundred times better than any place I have been to in san antonio.i love the fact that it's down to earth.no fancy gimics or fancy prices.but too much food ! Love this place .I always come here to just relax in a quiet peaceful enviroment.
I'm totally embarrassed that I can only give 5 stars to a place that deserves 50. Came in Sunday for the 1st time in 20 years. Don't know why it's been so long since I've been there but will be back SOON. Food service was so good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good cooked home style meal. ITS THE BOMB. Chicken fried steak was so tender just the right amount of breading, took up the whole plate, hamburger was SLAMMIN best of all was the onion rings. Service was TOP NOTCH!!!!!!
Tip Top, what can I say, it's good, but it need an upgrade. I know it's been around for ever, and the old, mildew smell need to go, and the waitress we had did do a really good job at checking in, especially for refills and the gravy, took a long time, and the place had only about 5 tables. Okay sorry, now the food. I have been here twice before, and the chicken fried steak is still the best, with gravy and mashed potatoes, that's was for my girlfriend, now I had the roast beef on the toast. I loved it, my girl said it was dry and salty. I don't add salt to my food when cooking, so It didn't taste salty to me. The gravy for the roast beef was awesome, and the fries were fresh and crispy. We had Salads with homemade ranch, but the salad only had lettuce and few vegetables, like 2 pieces of shaved carrots. We also started the meal with the onions rings, this was Sooo Good. The onions were lightly fried, and great tasting. I enjoyed, and I should have had the pie, so many flavors, next time, and as always my 2 cents, but give them a try, I could be wrong. Sorry I had photos but they are not wanting to add. I'll try again and update
