Hogfish Grill - Stock Island

Food was good and as busy as this place was we were shocked how fast our food was delivered. I would call this place a hidden gem as it is away from the regular tourist areas.

Love the shrimp and grits. Add a fish filet to top it off. You can't miss with pretty much anything on the menu. The locals love this place, and I know why...

It's a locals' place where the food is good and you may want to check the menu on line before you go. The friends I took had a hard time trying to figure out what to get. Ask for a table on the water if you have visitors or you are a visitor and want to look at the fish. We were lucky enough to be able to see Mel's Treasure searching boat in the Marina, which was a bonus surprise.

If you happen to get lucky enough to go here and Wahoo is on the menu, don't even think twice. It's amazing. Coconut shrimp were tasty, and not overly breaded, and the sauce they come with is so good. Calamari is fried up to a golden brown, and really everything is delicious. It's a bit out of the way, bc it's out on Stock Island, and not on Key West proper, but if you have a mode of transportation to get you out there (we took a golf cart), def do it. Awesome KW fish bar feel, and the locals are happy and friendly. Great live music, too!
