Bidra med feedbackI stayed for 5 nights and the food was delicious with outstanding presentation. Every day brought a pleasant surprise for the palate.
The is little Inn is absolutely what the doctor ordered. A quaint spot tucked away quietly on the Fundy Bay, you can sit in the porch and patio and watch the sun rise over the bay, walk the beach or take a drive along the Fundy trail to explore sea caves.
This charming property has an old building and a new building. The owners are working hard to make a go of the hotel and restaurant business. The hotel side works OK but the restaurant suffers from inconsistency. They have a short season, give them a try.
The breakfast was not your normal fare for an included breakfast exceptional. The proprietor was very friendly, rooms beds were good and location excellent. I'd recommend it.
I booked a room through Booking.com for Tidal Watch Inn 6 mos in advance, received and printed my confirmation, was CHARGED full price for it one month after the fact (the deduction was from TIDAL WATCH INN and, yet, arrived to the inn in mid July, 2018 to have the innkeeper say, You 're not in my system. I had to go to the car and retrieve my paperwork to prove that I indeed had a reservation. After listening to the innkeeper (Rudi complain about Booking.com incessantly, 20 minutes later I still wasn 't sure whether I had a place to stay for the night. I was starting to sweat and told him so. It was obvious that Rudi is having some kind of business battle with Booking.com... something about virtual credit cards...something about him refusing them and cancelling reservations from them based on that. Whatever. The only trouble with that is that no one tells the guest! I didn 't really want to hear it anymore. I had wanted to do some sightseeing! Yes, he finally assigned us a room. He called it an upgrade and although I didn 't complain, it wasn 't the room I booked or wanted. I wanted a room in the main inn; we got one of the outbuildings. Yes, it had a whirlpool but I don 't USE or like whirlpools...and I could go on. There is an onsite restaurant and we were looking forward to eating there. So, finally, we got to our room and headed on to an early dinner at the inn with the intentions of going out to do some sightseeing afterwards. No such luck! Rudi chose to interrupt our first course to tell me that, yes, he had found me in the system but that he hadn 't gotten paid. He was telling me that I would have to straighten it out with Booking.com. I doubted him as I recalled seeing the deduction from my bank account from his inn, not Booking.com! But, I told him I would try and help out with this after dinner (nice, relaxing dinner, right!? After dinner, I hauled out my computer, checked months of deductions from my on-line banking and found the deduction from TIDAL WATCH INN! I walked back over to the main house to tell him, but he wasn 't there. A helper got him on the phone to let him know, but he wanted to talk to me. This was weird, but I had written down all the numbers from the transaction, dates and such and gave them to him, but he didn 't believe me. He said that what I was telling him was impossible and that unless I could offer him some other proof than what I had given him, he would charge me for the room. I told him, You can 't do that. You 've already charged me once! He said, I MOST CERTAINLY CAN AND WILL! It was heated. I told him I was aggravated. I took his e-mail address and hiked it back to my whirlpool! (lol . I was so stressed. Just what you want to be on vaca, right?! I went back to my laptop to think about how I could get a screen shot of my bank account when, not more than 15 minutes later, the helper called me on the room phone, told me Rudi had found the transaction he apologized. Really?? You couldn 't call me yourself, Rudi, and apologize?! Much too little, too late. Inhospitable! I realized that if he hadn 't found that transaction, I would have had to pay 2X for my room! ..and what recourse would I have? File a small claims suit with him in Canada and me in USA? Needless to say, we didn 't get any sightseeing in at all. The entire afternoon and evening was preoccupied with this debacle. My advice is that there 's a great inn right down the road. Go there! I 'm not a big fan of guilty until proven innocent!
