Vibe Cafe Restaurant - St Kilda

I usually check TripAd before trying out a new venue, but I decided to go in without checking tonight. I'm glad I did, because the rating might have put me off. However, the place was packed and lively, so I figured it must be good. We received excellent service, quick drinks (which is rare in my experience in Australia), and delicious food that not only looked great but tasted amazing. I was expecting typical pub food, but this was a step above. The live music was enjoyable, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Overall, I left a happy diner.

There is definitely potential for improvement at this restaurant. The ambiance is nice and the location is convenient. However, the food we had during our visit was mediocre. My steak sandwich was tough and not well-presented, making me regret my choice. My friend's meal was also underwhelming.

We visited Vibe on one of our days off during the Easter holidays, and despite the restaurant getting busy in just five minutes after a show ended, the service and food were excellent! The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about wine. Unable to decide from the menu, she provided helpful suggestions that demonstrated her expertise. I ordered the Seafood Pasta, while my friends chose the Porcini and Truffle Oil Risotto, as well as the Proscuitto and Rocket Pizza with Shaved Parmesan. All dishes were delicious. The waitress' recommendations were spot-on, and the food was delightful. I will definitely be returning for another dinner at Vibe!

I stayed at Base backpackers right down the street and always noticed this place was full of people.

I arrived early knowing full well this place gets busy staring from my window at the Airbnb apartment I was staying across the road.
