For our entrée, we ordered four good-sized pieces of Buttermilk Fried Chicken (see pic). We quickly devoured two of them. The chicken was cooked to perfection, tender on the inside with beautiful crispy crumbs on the outside. The portions were generous and could easily be shared by four people as a quick bite. For our main course, we had the Parma and Fish and Chips. The Parma was a standard Aussie pub dish, but still very good. The shoestring fries were perfect and the salad had a nice dressing that complemented the meal. The Fish and Chips were also good, with the fish being presented in a different way but still tasting great. The fries and salad were equally delicious. As for drinks, the beer was standard and the Lemon Lime and Bitters had a good taste. The service was quick and pleasant without being too overbearing. Overall, it was a good night out.
I recently had one of the best steaks at this restaurant! However, the chef mistakenly gave another person at my table a steak she wouldn't typically order, which changed the mood at the table. This was disappointing as her steak did not look good. Despite this, the service was still good.
We went to the restaurant on a Tuesday night to take advantage of the $25 steak deal. Surprisingly, there was no indication of this special offer. If you were not aware of it beforehand, it was not mentioned to you. I recommend checking ahead to see what specials they have, such as $15 pizza nights on Thursdays. The three of us ordered our steaks - two medium rare and one medium. The steaks came with a side salad, chips, and a small jug of pepper sauce. Despite the variety of sauces on the menu, the steak special only offered pepper sauce. The pepper sauce wasn't very good in all honesty. It tasted harsh and more like white pepper than black or green peppercorn. It didn't pass the chip-dip test. The salad was alright, but mine had a gritty texture, as if it hadn't been washed properly. It was dressed generously with vinaigrette, perhaps a bit too generously. The steaks were cooked well. Although mine appeared slightly past medium rare, it was incredibly tender and delicious. However, my wife's steak was overly salty. She doesn't like a lot of salt, and even I found it too salty, despite adding salt to most of my meals. Overall, it was a decent meal marred by minor issues that could easily be rectified. I would give it 3.5 stars, but unfortunately, Google doesn't allow half-star ratings.
