Great good earth foodPopped in here for a quick lunch and was thoroughly comforted by its great taste, pride-of-the-earth food.
Dined here for the Pork and Pinot dinner. A 4 course set menu with matching Pinots from some of our finest vineyards. Each course was pork or had a hint of bacon. The pigshead terrine was outstanding as was the pumpkin tart with just a hint of smokey bacon flavour. The pinot starting with a white pinot through to a ballsy deep red were all excellent. Wonderful service as always. The restaurant is to be relaunched soon which is exciting. I hope they fix the acoustics as it is quite noisy.
A group of friends went for breakfast and what a bad decision that was !A far cry for the halcyon days when it opened....Menu selection POOR.Orange juice tasteless.Eggs dry.Croque Monsieur no flavour (except butter).Staff average.Coffee awful.Expensive.If I was a guest at the hotel I'd be really p#$%%d at the offerings.GO ELSEWHERE!!!
Circas kitchen is alive with flavour texture and presentation all in perfect balance, The meal was nothing short of stunning, as a largely retired chef of 30 years, I could of stood and applauded the food, the service was seamless and a great compliment to the food
