Bidra med feedbackNext to a large antique shop over several etagens there is a pleasant tee room with indoor/outside seating, on mix and match furniture on mix and unmatched scurry. the charming young staff team is professional, polite and diligent. the light snack menu is supplemented by specials, although it is easy to miss this (as we did) because the special table is actually a mirror. we had a flat bag, a brie and a roasted sandwich of grapes, each served with a good fresh koleslawe, a dressed salate and a crispy crusty. tea and homemade cake was also very satisfying, tasty and good value. if they use the main parking space in malting lane, whose entrance is directly adjacent, is not fucked away. dog refreshments are also available.
They carry interesting collections. of cloths, books, furniture and many other objects.
This is gem of a place. All kinds of great items on 4 floors. Something for everyone if you like antiques and pre loved items. Stopped for a cream tea while visiting. The toilet was a tad scary hence the 4 stars because I lived the rest. Worth a visit!
Called in here to look at the antiques. We bought a small item and were served by the most miserable sour faced, unfriendly, man we had ever seen. On the way out we bought some of the excellent cakes on offer to take home and were served by a helpful friendly young lady and a jolly friendly young lad. Maybe they could teach the old bloke a few things about customer service ?
Very average service and food. We got to the building about 330 and went in to sit down. When we went in one of the assistants asked if we had ordered. As we hadn't we had to go back outside to the veranda and wait for the other assistant to take our order. We ordered a bacon bap, a sausage bap and two teas it came to £13.50 which did seem expensive but we had high hopes for the food. We went back in to the cafe and sat down. We were next to the radiator but also next to the doorway which had curtains across instead of a door. The curtains were tied back so did not keep the place warm, neither did the radiator unfortunately. The food arrived very underwhelming. The baps must have been kept in the fridge as they were very cold. I think the bacon and sausages had been pre cooked and reheated in a microwave they were hot but not very appetising. The food was served in a paper tray and the tea arrived in paper cups. I am not sure it would have been better in real crockery but at least it would have been better looking! The couple who arrived just before us had their food in real crockery. We realised this as we were leaving so didn't question it but I suspect it was something to do with them knowing the woman who served them. It was a a bit of a sad experience to be honest and an expensive one. We had also paid for parking and had intended to shop in the antiques place as well but neither of us felt inclined after that. I wish we had taken the food back to the car we would have been warmer and I would have felt we had got our money's worth out of the parking. I don't think we would bother again it used to be better so not sure what has happened.
