Bidra med feedbackAhhhh....Gold Leaf, Springvale. It’s your typical Chinese restaurant that has been around since the dawn of time. It's a bit old, it's a bit tacky, it's a bit rude. Their yumcha is standard fare but the suckling pig (which requires preordering) is the highlight. <br/ <br/ I ordered a half serve for a special occasion. It was done to perfection and it was wolfed down very quickly. I really should have asked for a full serve....regrets! Won’t make that critical error again.
3.5*<br/ Was extremely busy when I came today (so luckily we had made a booking). Sometimes it takes a while for the different foods to come around, as we had to ask for a specific dish a few times. Otherwise the food was good although I cant quite differentiate the taste between the filling of the dumplings (they all taste pretty similar to me). The egg tart and mango pudding was good!! Also tried the deep fried ice cream for the first time here and unfortunately the exterior didnt taste as “fried” or as crunchy as I would’ve hoped. Otherwise it was a filling lunch and satisfied my dim sum cravings.<br/
I’ve been to a lot of places but this place will always be my go to place for yumcha. I believe it is expected that customer service is not always the best at these kind of restaurants but expect the food to be great. The variety of the steamed, fried and dessert dishes is really good. You can order a la cart if you have certain dietary requirements as well. Huge space but always busy on weekends so make sure to book beforehand.
Decent yum cha in Springvale. They have a good variety and flavours are always consistent. Service is a bit rocky. I think it has become better over the years though.
This Melbourne restaurant offers some of the best Chinese food around. I recently went here for lunch and was impressed by the delicious yum cha and fast service. The quality of the food is excellent and far surpasses what I have found in the CBD. I highly recommend this place, especially for yum cha lovers.
