Bidra med feedbackDisgusting Too many other places to eat than here. Worst fish I've ever tried to eat Unprofessional staff. Too bad because location on water would of been nice for a good restaurant ....
My fiance and I plus our two small dogs stayed here for the week of the eclipse. Because it was such a popular area to be in for the eclipse, we knew it would cost more. They charged us double the normal rate yet most of our stay was following the eclipse so I can 't help but wonder why we were charged so much for those days. It was very busy for the day before and after the eclipse but quickly became a ghost town. We were able to rent a boat for the week from a nearby marina since Spring City Resort does not rent them out but it was not available until the day after the eclipse. We were eager to find a place that would rent to us for just a day so the lady we made our reservations with told us we could use their work boat a very basic pontoon. We were elated. However, on the day we arrive (2 days prior to the eclipse) we come to find out that one of the co owners decided he wanted to take it out that day. We were invited along but after getting wishy washy answers on when they would actually be going out on the water we decided against it. The cabin we rented had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, living room and tv (cable did not work but we did not mind) and the type of ac unit you see in a hotel room. You have to bring your own towels which is fine but I wish I had brought my own linens as well the paper thin sheets and pillow cases made you feel a little gross every time you got in bed. The entire place is very musty smelling. The dishes in the kitchen were pretty gross, had to be washed before use. I was a little surprised by some of their policies as well, all the dishes needed to be washed and put away, garbage had to be taken out their dumpster on the other side of the lake... Which would all be fine if I didn 't feel like I was paying for more. I also needed to purchase more toilet paper and hand soap for the bathroom, things I wasn 't expecting to need. In the middle of the week, we had a knock at the door. We certainly were not expecting any body so we were shocked to find out it was one of the workers wanting to come take a look at the cable box. I would have appreciated if they had called us first, there is no phone in the cabin but they did have our cell phone numbers. I had just showered and was not really dressed for strangers to come in the cabin. It also makes me wonder if she would have just come in on her own had we not been there. The biggest perk for us was being able to have a private dock in the backyard of our cabin for a boat we rented. The dock is tiny and falling apart but it was close. Traveling to this particular area was something on our bucket list as my fiance stayed nearby there often during his childhood but it is not something we would like to do again. If things would have been a little nicer I would have gladly gone back since the prices would be cheaper, travelling with dogs isn 't always easy but this place allowed them and having a kitchen to prepare our own meals is a plus but I just can 't see wasting the time or money. As for the restaurant, Long Hollow Grill, this is a separate business from the marina. We did eat there a few times and it was great.
There is a restaurant (Long Hollow Grill) at the marina...but this review is for the marina. The marina is a mess. It is miss managed by a group of 7 owners who apparently do not care about running a business in a professional manner. We, like many others pulled out after only a couple of months due to how we were treated. We had problems from the moment we rented a slip. We had to wait a week to get our boat in because an unidentified boat was in our slip and they didn 't know who it belonged to. Then, in order for that boat to move, 2 other boats would have to also move to their assigned spots. When we finally put our boat in, the dock boss/manager (Breanna) told us we could park our trailer in a specific location. We found a few other boat trailers there already. We saw signs that said 'no parking ' but assumed it was meant for those not told to park there. Next, we get a bill for the entire time we have been there along with a late charge. I have proof I paid and on time! So because of that, we decide we are just going to take our boat home. We went to the marina to get our boat trailer and load the boat and bring it home. Guess What,,,it was gone! Two weeks earlier they had the trailers loaded and taken by a towing company to a fenced compound in another town. We went and picked up our trailer and it cost us $200. So they claimed that it was 'impossible ' to find the owners of the trailers. They could simply add a notice on the monthly bill for the offending boat trailer owners to move them, and we would have moved ours home. It was even worse than this, and there were other instances that could not be ignored, but just take our word for it. You do not want to do business with this place.
Excellent service, excellent food (best burger Ive had) and the atmosphere is fantastic. Found this spot on a road trip and will probably come back through just for this place. The owner is super nice and the chef is a keeper!
The place is once again called The Long Hollow Bar and Grill. The food is hands down 100% better than it ever has been before. The beer selection is meh, with the typical generics, which is a shame that if you're going to offer something different to Spring City, seems like you would improve the beer selection. The service is really good, although they seem like they're still trying to work out some of the bugs. They have one server though that dresses like a clown complete with colored hair and everything. Not really sure if this is done to draw attention to the restaurant or draw attention to herself, although she would be better if she paid as much attention to the new customers as much as she flirts with the regulars. Thank goodness she doesn't distract too much from the real reason for going here, which is the food. Well worth the drive, prices are moderate, food is excellent, just avoid the clown and you'll be fine.
