Bidra med feedbackPretty good! I tried the crooked cattle **** with chopped eggs. Very salty, but it's etched beef! Unconventional take on the classical court but still done well. I love the bacon too! A very chaotic morning for them. Internet was down, DoorDash had problems. Nevertheless, they did well.
Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the crab cake Benedict w red potatoes and so excited!! Blake is amazing, and that's all I'm here to say. His energy was contagious! Super helpful, attentive, and on it! Thanks for everything! Food is also delicious, definitely a go-to spot for any time of day! The wait is worth it. Trust me.
Today, I took a short drive from my home to have breakfast at Kings Blu Jam Café, located at 4711 Louetta Road in Spring, Texas. This café prides itself on sourcing local ingredients of the highest quality. The produce comes from Atkinson Farms in Spring, fresh seafood is sourced from Woodlands Seafood, and the unique Blu Jam Sausage is provided by Fishers Meat Market. Even the coffee is locally produced. Kings Blu Jam Café is known for its Southern-style breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with a Cajun twist, featuring recipes passed down through generations. Their menu includes enticing dishes like Shrimp and Grits, Chicken and Waffles, and Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. They also have an extensive keto-friendly menu and outdoor seating with a covered terrace, plus the option to bring your own beverages. I had intended to visit for some time, and after reading mostly positive reviews—though some complaints—decided to check it out. The atmosphere was quite relaxed, and our server, Mike, was attentive and friendly. My visit was for a late breakfast, and the restaurant was not busy at all. The menu is extensive, offering an array of breakfast items including fruit cups, oatmeal, bran muesli with fruit toppings, avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, Chicken and Waffles, loaded hash browns, custom omelettes, waffles, French toast, pancakes, six varieties of eggs Benedict, and of course, Biscuits and Gravy. I opted for the Southern Breakfast, which included two eggs, country ham, Kings Blu Jam's special sausage, and a biscuit. The coffee was good and served in a generous cup. After finishing my first cup, I patiently awaited my breakfast. Mike came by to refill my coffee promptly. I noticed that only three orders were placed directly from the restaurant, though there may have been several from delivery apps like UberEats or DoorDash in the kitchen. After a wait of seventeen minutes, my breakfast finally arrived. Although the restaurant has a cozy vibe, even places like Cracker Barrel or Broken Yolk Café tend to serve food faster. Once my meal arrived, I was excited to see the large biscuit, but it wasn't warm enough for the butter to melt. The grits came in a generous cup but were only warm enough to barely melt a couple of butter pats. My fried eggs were somewhat overcooked at the edges, making them tough to cut and chew. The flavor of the Blu Jam sausage was excellent, though it was a bit hard. The biscuit was delightful and could almost be considered a dessert, especially when paired with Kings Blu Jam's homemade strawberry jam, which was definitely the highlight of the breakfast. The grits tasted good where the butter had melted. Overall, my experience at Kings Blu Jam Café was mixed. While the sausage had a wonderful flavor and the biscuit was worth the visit alone, the slow service and some overcooked items left something to be desired. I’ll grant the kitchen the benefit of the doubt regarding their pace, as I'm unsure of the number of orders they had to manage. However, spending $18 before tip for a meal that felt below average isn’t ideal for me. I made sure to tip Mike well for his excellent service. The café also offers a nice lunch menu, and I plan to revisit Kings Blu Jam Café next month to see if my experience improves and will update my review accordingly.
However, the service was a bit chaotic. There were six of us, and our orders were missing items across the board. My daughter's blueberry pancake order was completely overlooked, and it took multiple trips for the server to get our orders right. The next day, I returned with my partner for breakfast, and we both ordered the Brisket Biscuits, which were fantastic, and the service was excellent—no issues at all. Perhaps it was just an off day for the staff.
I visited for the first time, and it was amazing! The kids and I really enjoyed our meals, and the portion sizes were generous. I tried the cookies with sausage engravings, and they were delicious. We're definitely planning to come back next time for breakfast!
