Yah-so - Southwark

We went to the Croydon branch to celebrate my friend's birthday and had an amazing experience thanks to Rohema, our waitress. Her customer service was excellent - she welcomed us warmly, made sure we were comfortable with our seating, and checked in on us despite being busy. The food was delicious and the drinks were refreshing. The highlight of the night was when the drums were played to celebrate my friend's birthday. Thank you, Rohema, on behalf of all five of us. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Celebrated my birthday here and this place was awesome! The food is so good. The experience was made exceptional by an excellent customer service provided by Rehima, it was made special by their Yah-So way of greeting and singing Happy birthday! Thank you Rehima!

Do not dine at this restaurant. The service was the worst I have ever experienced, with incredibly rude staff. We were a large group and were unexpectedly asked to leave after 2 hours because they had another booking. The food arrived half an hour before our designated departure time, forcing us to pack our meals to go and ruining my son's birthday celebration. The staff even refused to serve my son a drink with his meal. One staff member continuously pressured us to hurry up throughout the meal. They prioritize maximizing daily bookings over customer experience. I will never return to this establishment, as the music was unappealing and the staff were hostile when asked for a different genre. Only after requesting reggae, fitting for a Caribbean restaurant, were we accommodated. This type of behavior reflects poorly on Jamaicans and contributes to negative stereotypes. Despite decent food, I am dissuaded from dining out further due to this experience and had to apologize to my guests for the poor treatment.

NEGATIVES: There was a possible 30-minute wait for orders and the quality of service varied among staff members.

We was in the area so we decided to go in, we did not have a reservation so they sat us outside. The deco is old fashioned and the staff looked unprofessional, on their mobile phone, walking off down the road. We ordered plantain, chunky fries, ribs, festival, mac and cheese, jerk chicken and rice and peas and a few other bits and drinks. Getting all excited for our food, after about 10 minutes the waitress comes back to say their to busy to get our food because we never made a reservation. I've been to classy fine dining restaurants to pub lunches and have never heard of such nonsense. We said we would wait and she point blank said there busy, when the restaurant was not full. This was an absolute JOKE. THE drinks didn't even arrive and there was no one at the bar.
