Ossie's Jerk Chicken - Southwark

These people are something else. Provided us with the wrong order but expected us to come back to the shop at 2am in the morning instead of allowing us to come back at a reasonable time later that day as we don’t live locally. Lady on the phone who made the error, raising her voice and telling us we must come back at 2am as nothing can me done later on because the staff change shift, however, called me ignorant when I raised my voice back. Overall customer service is never great at this establishment, food is ok, nothing special but considering this is a ‘business’ their practices are absolutely shocking, completely unprofessional and downright rude.

Just visit: ackee and saltfish all day long, great patties, loads of drinks including homemade, cakes, and all with a smile and decent music in the background! Big up!

As I had a craving for Goat curry I decided to take a random trip to Walworth Road, just round the corner from Elephant and Castle. I didn't have a shop in mind so just looked around to see which one caught my fancy. Ossie's Jerk Chicken looked good so went in but they only take cash so I had to get some cash. It was the one for me because the ladies in the shop were friendly and cheerful, you could feel their passion. What was interesting was that they also offered Lobster which is rather expensive ingredient so from that I felt confident that their food was going to be good. Came back and got the mutton curry for £4 which includes a drink. Apart from the odd bones here and there, the mutton was soft and silky in a flavourful curry sauce which went down well with the rice and peas. Compared to other rice and peas I have had, the peas here were extremely soft and starchy. Finished off with the tropical juice drink which was nice and soothing after a spicy curry which was spiced just right and not too spicy.

Well I am a regular like many others at Ozzies at one point 5 or 6 times a week now twice a week its great for 24 hours a day and if you like west Indian food boom bang its the one I'm a oxtail guy getting very fat from going there reasonable prices I mix it up time to time with curry chicken and saltfish or stew chicken come on down remember its 24 hours

Dont seek this place out.. but if you want some jerk.. why not. Food is grisselly, but flavours are as you would expect. Service is cold, but as you would expect.
