Stags Head Inn - South Somerset

We enjoyed a delightful stay at the Stags Head Inn. Amazing food, attentive and welcoming staff and a fabulous comfortable room.

Very warm and friendly welcome. Nicely decorated. Good service, accommodating and attentive. Love the relaxed atmosphere. The food was very very good. Mushroom soup was amazing! Charcuterie was delicious. Both our mains were delicious. A beautiful, cosy pub that we’d revisit in a heartbeat.

A cracking date night for the two of us, shared our main courses as both were very very nice pork belly and the beef rump unhurried service, friendly with very attentive staff as well why go elsewhere when this is such a wonderful place a big thank you to the Stags head for a wonderful evening...

We booked last minute, covid has really thrown everything up in the air but the lady on the phone was confident and a table was booked for 6.30. We have been a number of times to The Stag it is a little off the beaten track but well worth finding. On arrival two of our party had forgotten their masks me included) the bar staff quickly sorted us out and showed us to out table. Drinks were duly ordered and then orders placed. Two of us had the starter of salmon which was wonderful full of flavour and very light the others had the starter of jerusalem artichoke which was equally good. We all had the beef rump with portobello mushroom a salad and thick French fries this was superb and the salad with its sweetness truly enhanced the meal. Unfortunately none of us could manage a desert maybe next time because we will be back. Great atmosphere too and it was good to see others had ventured out, hopefully they enjoyed it as much as we did.

Excellent meal and service, faultless. The ambience and surroundings are welcoming, log fire in restaurant comfy chairs. Landlady professional but very welcoming. Cannot recommend this place enough.
