A lovely traditional pub, one that you would come back to. Jan Steve meet you with courtesy a smile. The pub is spotless has some lovely appropriate decor. Nice to experience the themed evenings the Halloween extravaganza was a hoot, lively Angels, Devils Monsters not forgetting Jan Greatford’s answer to the Adams Family. Thankyou to all the staff who go beyond to make people feel welcome. The Christmas decor is tasteful the menu food is spot on no hanging around, lovely fresh food a good selection of Brew’s can recommend ‘Ghost Ship’ Enjoy !

Having just returned from a holiday in Cornwall I called to see if I could get in for a roast on Sunday 24th September. He managed to squeeze me in a couple of hours later. Once we got there the Barmaid clearly wasn't expecting us but was quick to set us up a table so wasn't a problem. This is about the 4th or 5th time we have visited for a roast and both had the roast lamb this time. It was gorgeous, so tasty, piping hot and plentiful. I asked for extra gravy and the cauliflower cheese. The gravy is so very tasty and the cauli cheese was to die for. We will definitely be going again! I only wish I'd taken a photo.

We had noticed this pub on our walks in the area, so we decided to stop in and give it a try. The barmaid greeted us warmly and served our drinks promptly. The establishment has a lot of character and history, with a cozy, dimly lit interior that adds to the ambiance. Unfortunately, they were not serving food at the time, so we will have to return another day to sample the menu.

This was one of the best roasts. We called late in the day and they made the effort to fit us in. Not everything on the plate was perfectly cooked, but! It all tasted amazing. Just back from a lovely Sunday roast. Selection of 4 meat and 1 vegetarian option. Plentyful selection of vegetables. Piping hot, well cooked and generous portions. Attentive and friendly staff. Would recommend.
