Jasons Tavern - South Dennis

I've dined here four or five times, and I'm always happy I did. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is consistently friendly. My server, Joan, was particularly impressive—she was attentive, friendly, and highly competent.

Based on previous reviews, this was my first experience at the restaurant. My wife ordered the soup and sandwich lunch special. The soup was good, but the sandwich was disappointing—it only had a slice of turkey between two pieces of white bread. When the waitress asked how everything was, she walked past me before I could express my dissatisfaction. Later, when we questioned her about our meal, she claimed we had ordered salads, tomatoes, and other items, suggesting we should have known that in advance. Overall, the sandwich was subpar, and this was our first visit.

The hostess was quite unpleasant and unfriendly. I called ahead to check the wait time and was told it wouldn't be very busy. However, when we arrived, we were informed that it would be a 50-minute wait, which seemed confusing given the information I received over the phone. It's unacceptable for the hostess to be dismissive and rude. I've enjoyed the food here in the past, but I'm beginning to question whether it's worth returning when the staff is disrespectful.

What a little gem of a place. It was a rainy day and upon entering it felt really cozy inside. Sat down and the lovely lady behind the bar was right over to take our order. We were planning to have appetizers and entrées but the apps were so big we didn't need an entrée. Great value for money

Great food and great service. The bar made a great drinks, the chowder and quahog were both good but the burger was great! Plenty of fries and the kids menu items are a great size.
