Bidra med feedbackFour of us got together for a Sunday roast. I had the pork leg while the others had turkey. It was the best pub roast I've had in a while. We washed it down with a nice pint of Pedigree and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It was a very pleasant visit.
I stopped by this restaurant while on my way to the M6 with my son. We had a delicious lunch of chicken ciabatta with sweet potato chips and two bottles of water. The staff was friendly and attentive. However, when I went to pay at the till, I tripped and fell backwards off a 4-inch step, hurting my back and getting a lump the size of an orange. Fortunately, I wasn't seriously injured. I was informed by a staff member that the pub had a Health and Safety Certificate despite the incident. I mentioned the danger of having the till above a step, but was told it couldn't be moved. While I appreciated the food and the kindness of the staff, I would caution others to be careful of the step near the till when paying. A warning or some caution signs would be helpful for unsuspecting customers.
We celebrated three birthdays, including a 101st, at this restaurant. I had informed them online in advance about needing a table with easy access, an adult requiring children's portions, and another with food allergies. The staff responded promptly and took care of everything. When we arrived, we were impressed by the wonderful, polite, and helpful staff. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it, with a wide variety of options for those with dietary restrictions, including vegetarian and vegan choices. The easy access table was perfect, and the restaurant was beautifully presented. We will definitely be returning!
I travel quite a way for this pub because of the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly front-of-house welcome and greeting, the great service, the great beer and the great food. A couple of days ago, Saturday evening, a customer (three actually) complained about the requirement for his son's ID and was/were rude to staff, ordered food and demanded their money back after it was cooked. And then delivered negative reviews. My view: take responsibility and bring your ID with you and if you are disgruntled, don't order food. Top marks to Phoebe for coping with this, and top marks to Nick for making the right decision.
I've come on here to say what a wonderful time we had on Saturday and to compliment the management and staff with how they dealt with a horrible situation. To my horror I have found reviews left by a family who's behaviour was nothing short of disgusting. sarahrD960D0 your review is nothing short of complete lies. The behaviour of your table was nothing short of disgusting, and for you to try and make out it was anything else is just ridiculous. How the management and staff dealt with it so calmly I don't know and rest assured ourselves and other customers around us had nothing but praise for the pub, and utter contempt for your behaviour. If my husband or partner behaved like that I would be mortified, not try and stick up for him publicly. Saracens Head well done. You will be seeing us again now we know we will not have the mis fortune of seeing this family in there again.
