Homestead Solana Beach

Delicious food with outdoor seating. Friendly staff, quality ingredients. They have a short menu but what they prepare, they prepare it well. Had the Tarragon Chicken Salad Sandwich. Comes with chips and a homemade pickle. Definitely will have it again!

This place is located in a high end area of Solana Beach. While shopping, my husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch. There were several people dining in a cute courtyard with an A rating proudly displayed in the window. After ordering, I began to notice how filthy the floor, walls and counters were. The A rating gave me hope that perhaps they just had a busy morning. However, 12 hours after my lunch I became violently ill. Throwing up for 5 hours and becoming way too familiar with a vacation rental toilet, I spent the night in terrible pain and cold sweets. It was painfully clear my body desperately wanted something out of it. With no sleep, no energy, no appetite our two day mini vacation was ruined. After reviewing the events from the prior 72 hours, the only thing that we did not eat the same was our sandwiches at Homestead. My husband had chicken salad and I had Tuna. I called the number online to inform someone of my experience but the phone number was disconnected. So I felt compelled to write a review and contact the San Diego Health Department. Hopefully someone will find and resolve the source of my foodborne illness before anyone else shares an experience that literally brought me to my knees.

Had a great lunch today with a delicious turkey wrap and the best matcha latte I've had in a long time. Quiet, shady with a breeze and relaxing atmosphere. Can't wait to come back.

We got some food to go as we hit the road back home after a wonderful vacation and we were all so sad that it was the last experience of our trip. Every thing was really bad. My husband's sandwich was over powered by onions. It was all you could taste. The kids $8 ! quesadilla was fine because it's cheese and tortilla but their chips were soggy like the bag had been left open in the humidity. My latte was the most terrible. It tasted like dirty water and had absolutely zero foam. If you're going here for the first time, I wouldn't recommend take out so you can make sure the food is to your liking.

Always delicious. the waffel is out of this world and gf to boot! and for lunch in the last time I love the rancho Gordo bean salad
