Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet our expectations. The burger had a pale color that made it look almost like a turkey burger, the reindeer sausage was decent but nothing remarkable, and the mac and cheese was incredibly disappointing. It tasted like instant Kraft mac and cheese with just a sprinkle of pepper to make it seem more interesting. While our lunch was edible, it lacked the wow factor we were hoping for, so we opted to find coffee and desserts elsewhere. To the owners (who I believe I interacted with), I know you have the potential to do better! I really loved the ambiance of your shop and the service; you just need to improve the food. **Service:** Dine-in **Meal Type:** Lunch **Price per person:** $20–30 **Food Rating:** 3 **Service Rating:** 5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 5
The food arrived relatively quickly, but this is where things took a turn for the worse. I ordered a hot dog topped with chili and cheese, each costing an extra dollar. As evident in the attached picture, the toppings were extremely disappointing. While our group was expressing our disappointment, someone from a neighboring table commented, “That looks so sad.” I understand that everyone can have an off day, but it seems ridiculous for both the kitchen staff and serving team to look at those hot dogs and think, “Yes, customers will be happy they paid for this!” The hot dogs themselves were fine. I enjoyed the occasional bite that had a single shred of cheese or a hint of chili’s flavor. However, the buns were too soft, causing my hot dog to slip out by the second bite. It might have just been a bad day at Bites on Broadway, but I likely won’t be returning.
We 're from Hawaii, and was on our 7day/7night Princess Cruise to Alaska. We took a side street to purchase liquids. We found a hidden gem called: Bites on Broadway. WOW!!! What a wonderful experience we had there. The owners were filled with the same Aloha Spirit that we are accustomed to here in Hawaii. The food was great, the desserts were incredible, but, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The conversation was authentic loving. Turns out, this was the BEST spot we experienced while off-shore. It is truly sad that the busses that take you around the city, will tell you that Star Bucks or some other watering hole is on the main street. But, the BEST watering hole is located at the end of town, hidden down a street. I 'm soooo glad we found Bites on Broadway even more elated to meet two great guys who are so authentic loving. So, if you are REAL, and love to meet FANTASTIC people, please go check out our newest members of our Family at Bites on Broadway inSkagway, Alaska! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
