The staff was a bit rude, but the coffee and toast were definitely worth it. It was my first time trying kaya, and I think I'll be returning for more!
This restaurant is a fantastic spot for breakfast or lunch. The black coffee was served hot and bold, and it was great to see them pour it fresh from the large pot. The service was prompt for both dine-in and takeout. The selection of toasty options features a variety of Asian-inspired flavors, including kaya balls, cheese balls, toasties with char kway teow, chicken rendang, and even classic smoked cheese toasties. The cold drinks, such as lemon tea, were also quite delightful.
I truly enjoyed the authentic flavors of Singapore at this restaurant. The Kaya Toast, half-boiled eggs, and the Teh Tarik were all fantastic. I also loved the exterior of the store, which beautifully preserves the charm of the old building. The food was delicious overall!
The hot beverages are offered in two sizes, providing a true cup of comfort. The thin, crunchy kaya toast is delightful, and the soft-boiled eggs are perfectly timed, achieving a subtly creamy texture with opaque whites and vibrant orange yolks that flow gently when touched with a teaspoon. There's nothing quite like the satisfying experience of tearing off bits of toast to clean the plate. The last bites of egg and toast are always so tasty, especially when washed down with a slurp of coffee, making me want to order it all over again. The accommodating, patient, and friendly staff make you feel as if you’re visiting a welcoming home. This establishment truly embodies a heritage and tradition that we should cherish and support.
