I personally think this is the restaurant you should not miss in Chicago if you love Italian food. Their Burrata e Ham is one dish I will never forget. Warm tigelle bread layered with prosciutto butter, fig jam, burrata, prosciutto and arugula is the perfect mix of the creamy, salty and sweet. We wanted something to go with the crispy fall weather so we also ordered their Ragu alla Napoletana. Too much for a couple but so delicious. The food was okay was expecting better with how expensive they are. The drinks are good but can get the same drinks down the street for a lot less.
Let's start with a one sentence view: Come hungry and don't worry about the bill; we've probably never grazed longer or spent more than we did last night, but then we've probably never eaten better either. I booked Monteverde the day of, on a whim (I know, sounds impossible). They must have opened additional seating and I timed it perfectly. I was so excited to finally be visiting. Everyone I've talked with raves about the food and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is incredible.
