Kamikos - Siculiana

Passing through Siculiana, we accidentally found this beautiful Sicilian trattoria online and stopped for lunch. We were welcomed by a very kind manager who, in addition to recommending the dishes of the day, provided useful information on sites to visit in the area. The cuisine is good, quality products and the dessert they call Minchia di Moro is delicious. Quality and prices normal. A very pleasant surprise! Invited by a dear friend for lunch, I had the pleasure of tasting the excellent appetizers and first courses offered in the à la carte menu. Everything exquisite. The managers are really two good hosts. Colorful location, clean and with attention to detail. You can breathe the air of Sicily, the air of home. A gem, just where you don't expect it! the restaurant (we only tried this) but also rents rooms for the holidays. is perched on top, in the historic center of Siculiana. to reach it there are several steps to do in the middle of alleys where, in fact, you would not expect to find a similar jewel. On the other hand, I can say that in a region where road signs are rarer than snow, this place has very precise and frequent signals from outside the country at the entrance: It's impossible to lose! the atmosphere changes completely. very well-kept furnishings and lights and a careful and prepared driver who welcomes you as in a luxury restaurant, with a touch of fact in the house. and food follows this philosophy. you feel the passion that the staff has for the food of the place, revisited in modern key and told to every order. we arrived a little early (about 1930,) so we were offered an appetizer to deceive the wait: eggplant cream with delicious ricotta. We ordered two before, one of land and one of sea. the spider tuna was spectacular and the Sicilian summer the really original patccheri and very goblet. the second, a simple sesame tuna with a spicy pepper cream apart, was a joy for the palate. I don't remember having ever eaten such a good tuna, dressing wouldn't even be necessary. despite generous portions we closed with two excellent sweets both: cannolo and ice cream not made of bricks at the cassata. summarizing: two first, two seconds, two desserts, four glasses of wine, four glasses of zibibbo (off, like the appetizer). a thousand to dinner so empty the wallet, here we spent less than 30 euros per head. Tomorrow we come back is a shame both last night because we would have come infinity!

Visited here on a Sunday evening and it was quite but we still had a very nice time. The value is exceptional here and the food is very modern in style for authentic in taste. Would of loved to have made a second visit and I will next time I'm in town.
