Bidra med feedbackIt is one of the oldest eateries and it has maintained the taste till date. Avalkki mossru is delicious Coffee, I think for the taste one can drink more than 2 cups Puddu is crispy Dose is authentic and tasty.
During a family visit to Shivamogga, we had lunch at this restaurant. The thali was outstanding, with generous servings of side dishes. The service was prompt and top-notch. We also tried the avalakki mosaru, a unique item for us. Inside the restaurant, there is a charming little shop that sells Malnad specialties. We couldn't resist picking up some delicious sweets and snacks from there. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant if you are in the area.
This restaurant in Shimoga is a must-visit for delicious local food. We went for evening snacks and everything we tried was tasty. The Meenakshi special Davangere bene masala dosa was especially delicious with butter and potato bhajji inside. The vada was the best we've ever had, soft and crispy with chutney. The masala puri had a good balance of sweet taste. The dahi puri was soft and had a nice flavor, not too spicy or sweet. The coffee was served with a two-tone decoction in a glass, just right in flavor and appearance. The ambiance had a traditional house feel. Parking may be a bit difficult. The service was quick and the server's recommendations were good.
Been visiting Shimoga since my childhood but got to try Meenakshi Bhavan only recently. The place is packed for breakfast on weekends and is chaotic. There is no one to manage the crowds, very few waiters on the first floor and people crowding the tables and grabbing empty chairs. With difficulty we managed to share a table with others. Their vada and masala dosa are the best n must try. We also tried their avalakki which was well made but with little sugar in it. Finished our breakfast with coffee which was good. They also have a store that sells variety of packed snacks. Tip: Visit early on weekends and make friends with the waiters for faster service
You must try the Avalakki Mossru and one of the best Masal Dosas (Gari Gari Masal Dosa) I have ever had. It was very delicious compared to Bangalore's Vidyarthi Bhavan and CTR. However, I was disappointed by the lack of proper seating arrangement and the long wait times. On a Sunday morning, I observed that a single server was handling 10 tables, indicating a lack of attention to customer hospitality from the management. By 9:30am, there were limited dishes available, with only Dosa, Upma, and Avalakki Mossru on offer. There was no Idli, Kesaribath, or Puddu. The management should learn from Vidyarthi Bhavan or CTR on how to handle large crowds efficiently. Despite the ample space available at the restaurant, it does not seem to be utilized effectively.
