Bidra med feedbackThis local restaurant/bar has potential but needs improvement to attract repeat customers. The pros include its quirky atmosphere and friendly staff at affordable prices. However, the cons outweigh the positives as the food quality is lacking. It seems like my main meal was not freshly prepared and some parts tasted sour. The owner, who I suspect is also the chef, does not wear a uniform and handles plates without washing his hands after smoking. The menu is disorganized with laminated A4 sheets scattered everywhere. The cocktails could also use some improvement. Overall, it is unclear what type of establishment Jack's Shack is trying to be - a bar, a restaurant, or both? Despite reading positive reviews, my experience was disappointing and I ended up going to a chain pub instead.
This place is very welcoming, with a very friendly staff. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it.
Beautiful location, with extremely welcoming staff. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant.
To truly appreciate the delightful and unique holiday atmosphere, as well as the delicious menu at this establishment, one must enter and sit down. Despite its location on a corner of Cheriton High Street, it may give off the initial impression of a typical diner, but it is far from it. Every time we dine here, it feels like we are enjoying a meal in a European restaurant. Absolutely superb.
The restaurant is small and overcrowded, with customers using both the bar and dining area. The atmosphere is pleasant, but feels cramped due to the number of people. Unfortunately, they forgot one of our meals until we inquired about it. The food was tasty, but the portions were on the smaller side considering the prices. For example, £6 for a child portion of fish fingers, mash, and beans seemed expensive.
