Bidra med feedbackWe stumbled upon this pub unexpectedly while driving on the Snake Pass. It is a charming old pub with lots of character and offers fantastic views of the Strine reservoir and surrounding countryside. It is the perfect spot to enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating. We also enjoyed some delicious food, opting for sandwiches and a bowl of chips.
This hotel is located in a beautiful countryside and looks very unique from the outside. Inside you have a picturesque atmosphere of old world as you expect to form a 13th century. However, if you don't care about stuffed animals scattered around the windows and walls, as well as your food in small rooms where you feel locked up everyone can hear your conversation that this can be the pub for you! Food wasn't bad to be honest, even if I'd preferred more pasta on my salad plate. Speaking of the salad, he has a dressing room. In fact, nothing on the menu says this. My partner didn't respect things, so he was extremely disappointed when he asked for his food. After eating his little meat that made him find delicious, and the handful of fries that came with her, he left his salad without touching it and went home disappointed.
I typically do not leave reviews like this, but after my recent experience at the inn, I feel compelled to share. This establishment has been a favorite lunch spot for me and my well-behaved springer spaniel due to their welcoming attitude towards dogs. However, during my visit today, my dog was unexpectedly attacked by another customer's dog, which we later learned had a history of aggression. Thankfully, my dog will recover, but the situation could have been much worse if it had been a child or elderly person in harm's way. I urge others to be cautious if the couple with the husky dog are present, as their pet has shown aggressive behavior in the past. It is concerning that despite being aware of the dog's tendencies, the management still allows it on the premises. I look forward to hearing how the management plans to address this issue. Despite this unfortunate incident, the food and overall atmosphere of the inn are top-notch. It is just disappointing to see a known aggressive dog allowed in a family-friendly environment.
We visited the Strines after a long trip from Liverpool due to a jam.
Called for lunch in a very atypical for cold and wet Monday holidays to be received by a young staff, warm fireplaces and the pleasant hustle of a very busy country Inn exactly what would be expected.
