Uncle Willie's Bbq - Seymour

We just had some of Uncle Willie's BBQ cater our work location. OMG it was amazing! I haven't had good tasting BBQ since I was down south. Finally was able to enjoy some good comfort food up here in the northeast. I will have to visit this location. In reviewing the food I had a little bit of everything. The pulled pork and chicken was really good as expected. The burnt ends my favorite, very crispy and tender. The brisket was very tender. Their cornbread and Mac and cheese was very good as well. Their chili went perfect with the salad they had setup for us. I can't say there wasn't anything I didn't like. Their catering team was on point with having all the food set up for all the staff.

I honestly was gonna get a slice of pizza next door but they were out so I smelt the bbq and was like okay I'll try it. I got the mac and cheese with burnt tips and baked beans. It was so so delicious. The meat was tender and juicy and the mac and cheese was fire. The beans were so good my boyfriend who hates beans actually loved them. We will defiantly e returning.

Pulled and smoked chicken were really good and the sauce variety was even better. The Memphis was my personal favorite. The cornbread was moist and sweet. The sides were a little bland but the portions were good. Ordered: pulled and smoked chicken with cheese grits and Mac and cheese.

The Seymour store is closed as of now, but my wife called their number today (April 4th) and we've been told that they will reopen in our area some time in the following month. I miss their food and hope they can reopen close to their old location. UPDATE: I drove past the old location. There is a sign in the window stating that the new location is onSouth Main Street in Cheshire.

I 've used Uncle Willie 's a few times as a caterer for picnics. The prices are good, the selection is great, but the food . . . This is the best barbecue I 've had in the North. I don 't know what they do to it, but it 's damn near perfect. Ribs are 'fall off the bone ' tender, the pulled-pork 's not tough, the chicken isn 't dried out like other places. Everything has the right amount of smoke, and their own bbq sauces are perfect. I could eat a whole tray of their mac 'n ' cheese in one sitting, and their baked beans are almost as good as the ones I make. I try to stay away from their storefront in Oxford, because I 'd end up pulling in and grabbing something whenever I go past. The staff is friendly and helpful in planning. They 've always delivered on time, and have never forgotten anything. I strongly recommend Uncle Willie 's for all your BBQ needs.
