Went for lunch today having not been to the Kentish Horse for many years. Traditional British Pub with very friendly welcoming bar staff. Interior unchanged, just how we remembered it, lovely large garden. Having had enjoyable meals here before we were slightly disappointed today. The pub wasn't busy but we had what we considered a long wait for two main meals. A Ploughman's with Brie and Stilton was ordered, which came with just the Brie,(even though the barman wrote it down) it would of been better value with a baguette rather than a roll. The chips that were ordered to go with The Steak Roll were over cooked too! My husband asked for a bottle of diet coke, he had started chatting with locals at the bar and didn't notice he had been given an all most flat glass of pump coke. No desserts were ordered but an Irish coffee was that was barely warm. Okay they are all simple things that could of been corrected if brought to the attention of staff, but if they were on the ball they wouldn't need correcting!!
Called in for lunch on a Thursday lunchtime. Plenty of tables available inside with a few taken. Fairly typical pub lunch fare. Local beer from Larkin's and local cider from Chiddingstone.
Great pub, good beers, large food menu, friendly service 5 stars!
We went to attend an 80th birthday party. Our first time, it has lovely gardens and such a stunning view. The food was really good and staff so friendly we will definitely go again as they do breakfast on the first Saturday of the month. Recommend it to all.
