Zur Kajute - Sellin

A very pleasant dining experience on the terrace watching the world go by. The food is very good but not exceptional . However, the prices are reasonable and the service staff very friendly.

If you like fish, this is the place to go. And I love their fried potatoes. Fast and friendly service.

This place looks like one of the best in the center of Sellin. Dishes looks, good, staff is friendly in spite of the fact they don;t speak other languages than German. Food looks good is a little pricey, but the problem is, that it doesn't...taste as good as it looks. It is just average. Most probably one should not expect more in the central street of touristic city, but I was surprised that a fish I ordered smelled like not really fresh. I tried to explain it to a service but ... nobody speaks other languages than German and they didn't try to understand me. Most probably it was one time accident, but considering only good recommendations (without detail) int this service, I would advice to be prepared also for such situations and not judge food just by looking at it.

Boddenzander can be compared to American Walleyed fish, which it is sometimes sold as in the US. Our table ordered the zander, gruene heringe, fischteller and filetspitzen Ruegener which were all excellent. There is a Mwst. of 19% added in Germany. The restaurant was very...clean and quiet with excellent service. If you are in the area, try it!

Essen und Service waren guter Durchschnitt. Zweifeln würde ich allerdings daran, dass es hier vor allem frischen Fisch gibt, deshalb "nur Durchschnitt".
