Bidra med feedbackWe were visiting my dad for his 50th birthday and we wanted to be close to NYC but not in the city. This hotel is perfectly located near the NJ transit and Uber’s are able to find you quickly at the front of the hotel. We had room 201 which was fully equipped with a kitchenette and all the little things we needed. The staff, Michelle and Amanda were both super welcoming and friendly. Always smiling and chatty even after a long day. The only complaint we had about this hotel is where our room was located. Next time we stay, we will request a middle of the hallway. The hotel is right next to a freeway and it can be very loud! I had to buy a box of ear plugs after the first night.
The hotel was perfect for an overnight stay on a snowy night. Easy free parking (a plus in the metro area), quick check-in, and clean room with a fully appointed kitchen. Bonus points: I negligently left a charger and cords behind; I called the hotel that afternoon; the helpful clerk found the set immediately, I emailed a prepaid mailing label, and I had the charger set back in my hands within two days. Great, friendly customer service!
The staff headed by Amanda Tuorto we’re outstanding. Amanda recommended dining options and even made reservations without being asked. The one bedroom suite was recently remodeled and was spotless and very well equipped. The comfort level was great and the location is very convenient and easy to find. Kudos to the team in Secaucus for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back.
I for one wasn't treated very well. I asked for a clean quiet room. I got neither. Truck drivers who's companies have a contract and give them lots of business get treated much better than a single business traveler who uses points. My closet smelled from pot and a lady kept trying to get into my room all night. I couldn't sleep. The manager didn't handle this well at all. Never again
Candlewood Suites is in a great location! On our first day there we drove less than 5 mins to reach the Secaucus Junction and rode the train into the city for $17 /person round trip. For the remainder of the trip we used Uber and it was about 20-30 mins depending on time of day. The rate also depended on time of day. We were in town for a dance competition at the Meadowlands Plaza and this hotel was close to that location. As far as the hotel, it's not a 5 star, but that wasn't to be expected. My 3 star rating comes from the fact that I booked a 2 bed suite with kitchen for my daughter and I and when I arrived I was told the manager had decided that since one occupant was a child that we would only need 1 king bed. My daughter is 16. Bold of them to assume. Thankfully, the lady working the desk at our 10pm check in offered a roll away bed and even managed to work it into our room by herself. She then offered free refreshments from the store area. Parking is free, internet was free, there was an option to grab breakfast from the store room but I don't believe it was free. The room was clean. The kitchenette was fully stocked. We utilized door dash for breakfast and late dinners daily due to spending so much time in the city and there was a wide variety of restaurants in the area. In short, we would probably stay here again but I would advise that management take note of what is requested on a reservation and not to alter based on their opinions or options to gain more money.
