Bidra med feedbackSo sad Muriel's has closed down Columbia City/ Seward Park loved having you here. I know my weekends will never be the same without a trip to Muriel's... Their bagels were dense and perfect, by FAR the best bagels in Seattle! I hope the circumstances around the closure allow them to re open at a different location and bring back amazingly tasty food to our bellies very soon.
I thoroughly enjoyed my bialy at this restaurant. It stayed fresh all day and was perfect after just 6 seconds in the microwave. The onions were warm and sweet, adding a nice touch. I am giving it less than 5 stars because, although the establishment asks customers to clean up after themselves, they should provide bleach towels for sanitization.
On a busy Sunday, there was a line at this restaurant for my first visit. Unfortunately, the menu was placed below the counter height, making it difficult to read with the crowd. This was a clear example of poor planning. I'm not a big fan of bagels, as they need to be exceptional to justify all the carbs, but my friend wanted to treat me here. After navigating through the crowd, I managed to find a couple of options. However, when it came time to order, my first choice was not available, and neither was my backup plan. It would have been helpful if this information was posted. The server seemed too busy to care about my disappointment. In the end, I settled for a plain sesame bagel. When the order finally arrived at our table, my bagel was missing. When it did eventually come, it was cold, plain, and unimpressive. Lesson learned for next time.
The food at Muriel's is delicious and always fresh, the service is prompt, and the staff is professional and friendly. The parking lot is usually full, but there are plenty of places to park on the street. We love seeing familiar faces, including dogs, on a regular basis and we are grateful to have this amazing kosher restaurant in our neighborhood. We truly hope that the menu and hours continue to expand. Having a convenient and fantastic combination of a Hop Shop, Book Store, and Kosher eatery in our neighborhood is fantastic. Muriel's is the coolest place ever! It is hard to find kosher options in this town, so having a place like Muriel's that serves delicious food is a true gem.
Terrific, vital location with plenty of good food, but can't understand why they would serve a signature sandwich that simply, physically doesn't work. The bagel with egg, cream cheese and salmon is a sloppy mess. The bagel is delicious but the combination literally doesn't hold together thus is not really a sandwich. Warm, liquifying cream cheese is a bit of a gross out.
