Bidra med feedbackTerrific, vital location with plenty of good food, but can't understand why they would serve a signature sandwich that simply, physically doesn't work. The bagel with egg, cream cheese and salmon is a sloppy mess. The bagel is delicious but the combination literally doesn't hold together thus is not really a sandwich. Warm, liquifying cream cheese is a bit of a gross out.
5 stars for the bagels and the sandwiches don't go if you're in a hurry, but the food is good and I love that it's next to/in Third Place
Nice location, decent eats, and the facility is actually kosher. (Note for the reviewer who complained that a real deli would have meat: This is a kosher establishment. A real Jewish deli would not mix meat and dairy. The bagel just needs a liiiiitle more heft to it- there is a sensation of the bread deflating slightly as I eat it. A bagel should be dense and chewy, with plenty of bubbles in the crust from the lye cooking process. But this is the west coast, after all ;
Great food! They can take a bit to get an order out, so be patient. They can be shirt staffed. I usually order online and pick it up which works well.
My girlfriend brought me an everything bagel from Muriel's. I didn't eat it until the next morning, but I sliced it in half, popped it in the toaster oven (face up) to lightly toast it and then (because I didn't have cream cheese) I slathered half in butter and the other half in a homemade hummus. So first off, the bagel tasted great and the everything seasoning was slightly sticky and covered the entire outside of the bagel. However, what really won me over was the slightly chewy texture; it was perfect! I can't wait to go back to Muriel's!
