My family traveled from all over the United States to visit Disneyland. Today, we all went to Seal Beach and then had a meal at Avila’s El Ranchito. We were seated and given chips and salsa, made our drink orders, and then ordered our food. I chose the steak tacos without pico, but the plate came with black beans with pico (even though I specifically requested none). The first taco on my plate had a hair sticking out of it. Overall, most of the 11 people in our group rated their plates a 2 out of 6. The meal was very disappointing and lacked flavor. The hard taco was so tough that I couldn't even bite into it. I do not recommend Avila's El Ranchito. The money we spent on our meal was a complete waste. They should have at least comped the meal that had a hair in it.
This restaurant is a pretty nice spot with quick service and delicious food. They offer free chips and spicy salsa. The dining room is on the smaller side but is decorated nicely. I particularly enjoy the grilled chicken quesadilla, though everything on the menu looks and smells great. Parking can be a bit tricky on weekends as it is mostly street parking, but there is a free lot across the street for now. This area has a lot of good options, so limited parking is to be expected.
We stopped by for dinner but it was crowded and extremely loud. The acoustics here are terrible. We left without even putting our name in. I like Avilla's food, but this location is not comfortable. Atmosphere: 2
