South Main Tavern - Scottville

I traveled from New Jersey with the intention of fishing for salmon and was recommended this restaurant. When my friends and I arrived, there were only two other tables occupied. Unfortunately, it took more than 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. We ordered garlic mushrooms but were told they were unavailable; however, when another man came in and ordered the same dish, he was served immediately. The food did not meet my expectations. I ordered the corned beef special and was disappointed to receive just two small slices of meat with very little coleslaw. I plan to visit the area again, but I won't be dining here again.

Excellent food and service on every visit. The interior is very pleasant, too. Everything was fresh. They should definitely promote themselves more.

We waited 45 minutes for our appetizers; we had ordered garlic mushrooms but were told they were unavailable—only to see another customer arrive and get served exactly that. The meal itself did not meet my expectations. I ordered the corned beef special and was disappointed to find only two thin slices on my plate. I wanted to enjoy my visit, but I won't be returning.

Every time I've visited, the food and service have been excellent. The interior is very pleasant as well. Everything was fresh. It definitely deserves more recognition!
