Bidra med feedbackGreat location and really friendly restaurant. Booked a great table over looking the sea. Food was very tasty, the red wine, Etna, was excellent value. The owner really welcoming and we chatted in our broken Italian. Loved Scilla, would go back.
I couldn 't believe this place was excellent, in the ground floor there was nobody and from outdoor you could not see the upstairs terrace. once we get there, everything started to be magic; the view, the positive attitude of the staff, the atmosphere, the decoration, everything. the best thing was that there is no menu, the maitre come to suggest you the best of the day, he will let you feel like at home, understand your preference and make the meal a magic show. the food was unbelievable fresh, testy, smoothy. the dishes where not decored as a fine dining, but the taste was incredible. Nina was so kind and took care of us with a big smile and diego made the best groppino (italian lemon shake serve as digestive) ever. STOP BY AND YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Went to this resturant without having read any reviews, which had we read any there would have been a good possibility that would have chosen to go there. However our experience could not be further from those of the previous reviewers. We were a party of ten when we arrived the resturant was empty except for one table, for an inexplicable reason we were shown upstairs to an equally empty room. We made our orders and then we heard a lot of noise coming from downstairs. The anti-pasti arrived which in fairness I must say was fine. Then the main courses arrived, one of which was wrong and two other dishes were still to arrive, which meant three of our party were without dishes. However the vegetables ordered to accompany the missing dishes did arrive. One of the missing dishes was for steak and when it arrived, it was hardly warm and it was rejected and after about 20 minutes it was eventually replaced with a steak of exactly the same temperature, this was not eaten. When the waiter was challenged about this, from our limited understanding of Italian, he said that in the south of Italy the meat is not very good. If this was case why on earth would they put steak on the menu. The other two missing dishes were for fillet of fish in a lemon sauce, which arrived over 15 minutes later than the rest of food, why it took so long was a mystery. We decided to finish our meal and went down stairs to pay our bill, only to find that the majority of the tables were now full, with local male diners who we're watch the football on the TV. I was left with the distinct impression that we foreigners we seated out of the way and it was a case of out of sight out of mind
