Butter Whiskey - Saugatuck

Delicious food, friendly service and excellent ambiance!

Butter Whiskey presents itself as an Irish pub. I ordered fish chips, which should be the menu item they rock. The fish and the fries (chips) were over-cooked in the deep fryer. The fried batter on the fish ranged from dark brown to black. The relatively thick (1/2 x 1/2 in thickness) fries were so over-fried that they snapped. This wasn't a crispy outside and soft, chewy inside. Terrible fish and chips. My wife had a featured burger. So-so. Same overcooked fries. The only thing that was OK was the side of cole slaw. Don't bother.

We waited a long time for anyone to come to the table. They were really understaffed, which is not uncommon I understand. Once we were greeted everything else was great. The food was amazing!

Wonderful addition to Saugatuck. Our service was excellent considering they were short staffed and we were a table of 9. The food was hot and delicious. All of our bills were tallied correctly and the service was very friendly and courteous. Third visit here and we will return!

The Whiskey Mushrooms and the White Fish Pate were fabulous!!
