Bidra med feedbackYou must try this place! It’s a fabulous expertly run luxurious ‘Deli Restaurant with tables’ owned by boutique hotel next door I Cinque Balconi. Book a table, have a drink next door first then go eat from their choice of dishes cooked to order by expert chefs and staff who prepare and serve with a great deal of care. Wine selected for us was best we’ve had yet on island. Amuse bouches were generous. So, to eat we had stuffed onion to share to start (but had also fancied the octopus salad or marinated anchovies both of which looked amazing! , then the rice with seafood for Main, which was fantastic! Lastly, to share a beautiful walnut ice cream with fig (but the dark chocolate one with crystallised orange did look great too! . PS: They also served an amazing mixed charcuterie/cheese sharing board to someone which would be great to try sometime (if you eat meat . They have tables outside or, if full, you can dine inside and marvel at a wall of beautiful filled jars of stuffed olives, tuna, anchovies, chillies, etc., olive oils and wines. Ten out of ten, guys, we loved our evening with you!

We stayed here tonight and we breathed. the essence of our land, which often Sicilians are lost. we are poetry just like the welcome and cuisine of this small culinary paradise.
Food and service were great, but it was overpriced on house wine (11€ for 1/2lt of an ok Shiraz that you can easily buy for 4€/lt and water (4€ for 750ml of Ferrarelle!!! .
Casa Lo Schiavo has all the power of simplicity and genuine love and care for hospitality. It was the old village grocery, beautifully restored to a bistrot with lots of details and items from times passed. Few tables nicely set outside, in a quiet part of the Main Street il corso) and a well chosen music that invites you to relaxation and wellness. Perfect prelude for a hot summer evening dinner. Massimo, the patron welcomed us, showing us to our table, a menu with few but very tempting choices and inviting dishes of the day superbly described by the maitre). I choose the “Tonno Subito” a tuna steak perfectly cooked, served with just a hint of extra vergine olive oil. I never had tuna so tender, fresh and tasty. My girlfriend had a roll of eggplant, pasta and mince meat ragù while my daughter choose octopus salad and mussels. All gently accompanied by a glass of Vigne di Alice followed by a glass of Secca del Capo very aromatic dry local wine) Chocolate and pistachio tiramisù to end. Far the best meal we have had on the island this summer, all perfect, with outstanding service, the real gem of this establishment. Well done Massimo, you and your time are something of extraordinary. Ah, almost forgot, excellent relation quality-price, eating in Salina is quite expensive, we felt very satisfied with the bill.
