Bidra med feedbackI am a local and I ate here after day soaking based on what I thought would be a quick bite. It seemed busy and I was a little surprised that we were seated immediately. That should have been a red flag; however, the person who seated us was very courteous. Needless to say, the service throughout was painfully slow. The drink I ordered was delicious but it came out after the entree which was in and of itself a long wait. The drink also had a lot of basil garnish on top, instead of being muddled, which I ended up inadvertently eating. I like basil but it was almost comical to be chewing it with each sip. The waitress was very polite, but for us not to get our drinks until after the food was a huge miss. Not only that, she seemed to forget that I had asked for the check. I don’t know if the staff think people want to sit out and relax but we were ready to get back on the road so this was annoying to feel like a hostage. For what it costs to eat out nowadays, I really want quick, quality service. As far as the food goes, I was very underwhelmed. I am a believer in salt and my enchilada plate was under seasoned and I could barely find the tortilla under the sauce. It was sadly very soggy, including the rice. I barely cook but even I know how to cook rice, beans, masa enchiladas, corn tortilla enchiladas, and chili sauce, all from scratch; this entree was unrecognizable as an enchilada in any form. It was a corn tortilla drowning in bland chili sauce. If you’re a restaurant in NM, the chili should have some kick and flavor to it. Lastly, the tables were close together so it felt like everyone was able to hear each other’s conversations. I would have preferred some music on the patio. The surroundings are beautiful and I would like to eat there in the future if the food and service quality improve.
Listen. The food? Delicious. The service? Wonderful. I'm super picky and a food high-maintenance nightmare, and I left satisfied and content. I had the short rib sandwich with wheat berry bread substituted because I don't like crusty bread. I teared up it was so good. I came back for dinner and had the fish tacos. The honey chipotle was beautiful and just enough spice. And breakfast the next morning was a stuffed omelette and they indulged me with red and green on the side. And then (quickly) brought me a glass of milk when I had gone too far and needed to cool the burn. All in all, thee experience was lovely.
Great selection of food. Sea bass was great May have been a little too seasoned but overall delicious! Pork wing salad was very yummy!
We love calamari, if it’s available at a restaurant we’ll get it. This calamari came in the form of fish sticks, it was hard and chewy. The appearance is very off putting and it was not tasty at all. The sauces it came with were lacking as well. We asked to replace our appetizer with chips and salsa, assuming that not much could go wrong with something so simple. But that was a disappointment too. The guacamole tasted like the avocados had over ripened and the salsa did not look, smell or taste like any salsa I have ever had. It was pure liquid and smelled acidic. The waiter was rude, seemed upset that we did not want the calamari and forgot about the chips until we were nearly done with our meals. The spinach and feta salad was ok, small for $17.00. It is overpriced and not good quality food or service. We would not go back, would rather go literally anywhere else in Santa Fe to eat.
We just love everything at Ojo Santa Fe. Blue Heron has always been exceptionally good. We've eaten breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner as we always do when staying here. We especially enjoy Rosario at brunch/lunch. She's always so friendly and sweet. Yet again all of our meals were fabulous. Locally grown items and nice wine list too. We heard the cocktails were also quite good. Occasionally we drive up to Blue Heron just for a meal even if not staying there. For lunch)brunch we especially enjoy the green Chile burger and mahi tacos.
