This historical restaurant started in 1968, today 52 years later they still keep the same standard and wonderful spirit. The chef in photo have been there since 14 years ago. I became to know this magnificent place 40 years ago, the place is well kept and the variety of sea food is amazing. The prices are well studded and reasonable. Highly recommended if you’re in Santa Barbara.
The smell when you walk in absolutely makes you hungrier. The Mussels were amazing along with the complimenatry bread. We also ordered the Octopus tacos, while good themselves, the 2 sauces you get don't seem to compliment them very well. Great meal overall and excellent service. Happy hour is 1130 330. $5 house wines and margaritas which were great!
When I walked in I was very warmly greeted by the host, a young man with a big smile and great attitude. He was excellent at communicating and my sister and I were seated in less than four minutes; however, it was all downhill from that point. FIRST, to the left of the front door the bar is located and I watched a server putting a straw in a drink and throwing the wrapper on the floor. The service was incompetent and inadvertently forgot two separate request and refused to show up to the table with a pad and writing tools to take the order to help her retention, instead she spent the entire experience apologizing. When our food arrived, my food was lukewarm and my Sister's fettucine was overcooked and lacked seasoning. My swordfish was undercooked, the vegetables were charred but raw, and the potato romano was almost cold. When we informed the server, she apologized again and had a new plate brought out 45 minutes into the experience and 15 minutes after my Sister's meal. Sad part was that I was celebrating my Sister's birthday. Needless to say, it was a horrible experience the food is incredibly bland, the bar staff are unprofessional, and the chef does not care what comes out of the kitchen. Save your money and protect your memories that you attempt to create with your family.
