The Halal Project - San Marcos

This was my first experience at Halal Project, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Combination Plate. The meat was tender and packed with flavor, the vegetables were fresh, and the portion was generous. The hot sauce is quite spicy, so I recommend ordering it on the side.

During our vacation in San Marcos, we found that halal dining options were quite limited. We chose to visit The Halal Project, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The food was delicious, and the customer service was exceptional. Even though we arrived as a large group just 30 minutes before closing, the staff welcomed us warmly and went out of their way to accommodate us. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return if I'm ever back in San Marcos.

The food was outstanding—hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! The restaurant wasn’t crowded, but it took the staff a few minutes to acknowledge us. Since we ordered ahead and were using the self-order system, that might explain the delay in their attention.

The fries were soggy, the hummus lacked flavor, the pita was stale, and the shawarma was just average. I won't be ordering from here again.
