La Fromagerie Cheese Shop

I would love to give a higher rating, but after my first experience at this shop, I can't. I’ve visited this place several times without making a purchase—until today. I decided to try the grilled cheese sandwich of the day and eagerly brought it back to my office to enjoy. The wait was reasonable, and the sandwich was tasty, but as I started to munch on the kettle chips, I noticed something stringy in my mouth. Fearing the worst, like a fallen hair, I pulled it out and found it was a thread. While I was relieved it wasn’t hair, I was still unsettled that it was something inedible. I ate the salad with caution after that. I considered going back to the cashier, but since it didn’t really affect the sandwich itself, I opted not to. At this point, I'm unsure if I’ll return. I think I need some time to let this settle before considering a second visit. If it weren’t for the thread, I would have rated it a 5.

Vegetarian sandwiches can be a bit unpredictable, but this one was absolutely amazing! The bread, the cheese, and the arugula all came together perfectly. I loved it!

The Californian sandwich was fantastic! Although I usually don't enjoy cold sandwiches, this one won me over. The habanero sauce delivered the perfect level of heat for someone who enjoys spicy foods like I do. I also appreciated the salad and the cheese curds I added on the side. Given that it's downtown San Francisco, $10 for a sandwich is a great deal. The wait was minimal—under a minute—and my food was prepared right away. I'll certainly be returning, especially since they offer daily special sandwiches that looked really appetizing.

My favorite one, and a clear recommendation to anyone, is TOULOUSE with duck breast and fig jam. PARISIEN with aged cheese was a bit too dry because of the bread. The ITALIEN was good. And try the grilled cheese some time.
