The attentive service, led by our knowledgeable waiter, Steven, immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a memorable evening. Our dining experience began with a classic starter, the wedge salad. It was a refreshing blend of crisp iceberg lettuce, creamy blue cheese dressing, crispy bacon bits, and diced tomatoes—a simple yet satisfying way to kick off our meal. The freshly baked bread and butter that accompanied it added a comforting touch. To accompany our salads, my wife ordered a blackberry vodka sour, a beautifully crafted cocktail that balanced the sweetness of blackberries with the zing of vodka. It was a delightful choice for her birthday celebration. For our main courses, I opted for the 12 oz New York strip, cooked to a perfect medium, while my wife chose the New Zealand Tasman king salmon. The New York strip was a carnivore's dream, perfectly seared to lock in the juices and flavor. The Tasman king salmon was a standout, with its flaky texture and delicate smokiness—it truly showcased the skill of the kitchen. The side dishes, lobster creamed corn and macaroni and cheese, were generously portioned and packed with flavor. The lobster creamed corn was a delightful combination of sweet corn and succulent lobster, while the macaroni and cheese provided the ultimate comfort food fix. For dessert, we indulged in the bread pudding à la mode. The warm, comforting bread pudding paired perfectly with the local ice cream from Justin's, a beloved San Antonio institution with over 40 years of history. It was a sweet and fitting end to our evening. If you're looking for a classic and elegant spot to celebrate a special occasion in San Antonio, Bohanan's is a choice that won't disappoint.
My wife and I spent last week in San Antonio, and pulled out all the stops , as they say. Primo room with balcony right on the Riverwalk, all four nights a top tier restaurant. We 're talking $300+ for two. Some great places, but the best... hands down, Bohanon 's. Atmosphere, service, quality of food: all impeccable. My wife and I have notbeen to all 50 states (about 40), but try to seek out the absolute best wherever we go, and Bohanon 's is one of the best all-round experiences for us. Recommend without reservation!!
I was in town for work and Bohanan's came highly recommended. I ate at the bar upstairs. The service was impeccable. Michael served me at the bar and he was exceptional. One of the best steaks I've ever had.
Went to a game in majestic followed by dinner for woman birthday. the waiter (juan) noticed that the wagyu steaks were on the special menu so that we ordered them. steaks came out, the woman was over-done and hard, only a regular old steak nothing special, and we had wagyu steak before. the woman noticed that steaks that I grilled at home were better. the waiter never came by to see how I was eating or seeing if we needed anything else, didn't even give women free dessert for their birthday. there are many upscale restaurants to tolerate bad service and expensive, moderate eating, so we probably don't go back.
Experience in the theory I had a fine steakhouse! we love in the regular bohanans, but they missed this time badly! the waitress was argumentatiw instead of sticking to their mistakes...6 people over 1200.00 meal before top...not good
