Bidra med feedbackIt was thrilled to try the lunch specialties here after the arrival with the train. at 1:30 a.m. they came to lunch at 2. we were turned away, even after we had assured the hostess we did not want. very disappointed.
With hindsight we should have gone with the numbers as our Trip Advisor research would have taken us further from our hotel. Instead we opted for a decently rated closer place. The Pitterkeller is part of the Imlauer chain and is in the lower ground...area. The decor is traditional and the menu quite good. The service was quite slow after we said we needed more time to decide. Our vegetarian was struggling a bit as she didn’t feel like fish or salad. The meals were very large and full of promise however the extremely generous use of salt really spoiled the pork medallions, lentil stew and pork knuckle. We were in Salzburg/salt fortress so I guess we couldn’t complain! The potato and side salads were fine as was the Austrian style fried chicken and the spatlese noodles.
We were in the hotel imlauer and this restaurant was connected to the hotel. we ate there relatiw early after a long day of walking around the city. the personal was friendly and accommodating. there were no problems with communication. I had the pork that was the side of my head and was delicious. my wife had the fried chicken, which was also moist and tasty. would be highly recommended to the potato soup with crumbs. we would have had this as a meal, especially because it rained the biggest part of the day and it was cool. the prices were fair for the amount of food we had. it was a very pleasant and relaxing evening meal. fun.
I went towards cathedrale and suddenly I remember what my German doctor told me that while I am in salzburg, I must eat the famous wiener schnitzel con verschwein. Since it is my first, I really have no idea where to eat....Willing on the road, I happen by chance through mirabella cafe and I ask the owner where I can have the carving. he told me that about 300 meters, there is the pitter cellar and they serve the best carving in the city. I needed his recommendation and went to eat in the restaurant. the ambiente was that when a typical Austrian beer/restaurant. no chic decor, but this food is great. service is friendly and fast. a great place to have their meal.
Poor service. no atmosphere. can not believe that the previous reviews, as this was a Friday night and there was no atmosphere. fries reheated, skin on goulash gravy, no teller with salat had to ask: much to learn. There are many. better place to eat.
