Bidra med feedbackIf you have celiac disease, this place is not safe. I was assured that the food was gluten-free, but I felt very unwell immediately after eating and realized I had been contaminated with gluten. I would not recommend this restaurant.
They found some meals on the side that weren't labeled as gluten-free, but she insisted they were, explaining that the gluten-free items come with fries instead of chips. To top it off, my order was incorrect. The kids’ sausages hadn’t been cooked, so I had to wait another 10 minutes for those. Then, after all that waiting, they forgot to include the bread buns! I have to give credit where it’s due: the fish was delicious. I'm just not sure it was worth all the hassle, especially since there were no other food options available in the area.
Ordered takeaway gf fish and chips. Said I should wait 20 minutes, but 40 minutes later... still no food. They did bring it shortly after me inquiring and refunded me for waiting so long. It was pretty standard fish and chips... not worth the wait, but one of the few gf options on the pier.
Absolutely ridiculous. We visited a while ago and were informed that they would start offering gluten-free chips with a dedicated fryer. We returned today, stood in line, and were told that they do have gluten-free chips, but it would take about 10-15 minutes. I said that was fine. However, just a minute later, she returned with a box and said, "Oh, actually, they’re already ready." They weren’t the traditional chip shop chips, but instead looked like a bag of frozen oven chips that had been fried. If I wanted oven chips, I would have made them at home! To top it off, they tasted terrible and ended up in a nearby bin. Note to self: stick to Seabreeze in Redcar, who are consistently fantastic.
We had a delightful family meal at Seaview last week. My daughter has celiac disease, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. They offer an excellent gluten-free menu and are well-versed in the importance of preventing cross-contamination for those with celiac. The chef even prepared a delicious tomato soup as a starter, served with gluten-free bread on the side. It's a fantastic dining spot for both those with celiac disease and those without, all complemented by a wonderfully upbeat and positive team!
