Bidra med feedbackSince they closed locations in my area, I had not eaten at an O'Charley's in some time. This location is large with nice decor, including a mural that honors the local area. I ordered a lunch special, the Carolina Gold Chicken sandwich. Food was brought to the table with a reasonable wait time. I liked that the Carolina Gold sauce was served on the side so I could the amount I desired on the sandwich. Good flavor and filling portion. Service was prompt.
I have ordered many times through DoorDash from your store in Salisbury. A couple of weeks ago (don't have the exact date but can get everything from the DoorDash app) I encountered a huge problem with the food. I called and spoke with Lisa (told me she was GM). Told me how to handle the problem and how to remedy with DoorDash. Was so happy I got it handled. Last night I ordered again! Same thing I always order, Top Shelf appetizer. I always order the big Ranch so I can keep in the Fridge. Breakdown of order: Opened bag, no lid on ranch, ranch all over the place. Cleaned it off as best I could and opened container Cheese wedges were cooked so long that there was zero cheese left inside, just a shell of fried battered grossness Chicken tenders were ice cold and then rubbery once microwaved. Think this may be what made me sick but could have been the potato skins. Potato skins were ice cold and they looked like they hadn't even been cooked. The cheese wasn't even melted on top. Literally still shredded cheese that would fall off. I tried heating the tenders and potato skins in the microwave and it was totally inedible. After taking a couple of bites I started feeling queasy. Was on a chat with DoorDash reporting this occurrence and threw up twice then had diarrhea for about 25 minutes. Took pepto and started feeling less queasy. Told DoorDash what was happening and they have now escalated the situation. I placed my order at approximately 6:45 and received it around 8:15 or so. The driver said it was total chaos in the restaurant and the kitchen was not keeping up. She was so frustrated that she said she was just going home because it was such a bad night due to your restaurant. I tried to get in touch with the store but at 8:40 PM it said the store was temporarily closed. I wonder how many people your restaurant/kitchen made sick last night??? Terrible (dangerous food) and I don't think I will ever be able to eat here again. This is a shame as I DoorDash every Tuesday and Friday night. You guys have got a real problem here and it truly needs to be addressed.
Of course, O 'Charley 's is always a go-to for good food and has a good amount of variety. However, the fact that tonight 's hostess finds the use of masks in a public establishment where food is consumed to be stupid is a little unsettling. While taking another guests name and number (because there 's a small wait this evening), she let the family know that when they returned, they 'd need to wear masks to re-enter... to which she followed I know, it 's stupid... but because of COVID... Being someone who works with the public, I believe that it 's important that no matter what your *personal* views are, it 's your civic duty to stress the importance of general safety precautions without diminishing the risks... especially whilst in the middle of a global pandemic. The safety of those around me and my family members who are considered to be at-risk is in no way, shape, or form 'stupid '. What *is* 'stupid ' (for a lack of better terms) is knowing that people in this world are so self-centered that they consider wearing a mask to be the most discomforting thing ever. Because of this comment, I will now second guess coming to O 'Charley 's and consider other options.
A buddy of mine and I came in last week. On arrival we were warmly greeted. We both noticed the inside smelled, like a musty smell. We sat at the bar to order drinks. We both ordered beers. When the beers came, they were flat and didn't taste good. Most likely the kegs weren't fresh. The bartender didn't charge and appologized. Sadly our experience didn't go well and we yelped another local spot to go eat at. Two stars for the experiece. Staff was friendly and deservers better from GM and owners. If you can't get cold beer right, I highly doubt the food would be where it needs to be.
This place is lacking in all areas. You walk in and it smells moldy with old carpet. Looks like this company doesn't care about their product any longer.
