The Steinbeck House - Salinas Ca

Steinbeck house serves delicious American food. The volunteer servers are kind and full of wonderful information about John Steinbeck and the house where he grew up as a child. The rolls here are always outstanding!

The service is so wonderful. They are volunteers who works at the restaurant and they provide you so much great info and history beyond the house. The food was also very good. Highly recommended! Will definitely come visit again!

Took a trip to the Steinbeck house after visiting the Steinbeck centre. Staffed by volunteers who could not have been more helpful. Very informative and passing on lovely little anecdotes from other Steinbeck family members or neighbours of the family. Well worth a visit. Not even a five minute walk from the Steinbeck centre. We ate there too. Very good food served quickly.

Lovely lunch there today. Friendly folks eager to make your meal the best they can — and they all are volunteers! Pretty house, history lesson for free, good menu. Will definitely go back!

This is a very picturesque location with good food as well. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the house are are sure to let you know the details of each room as you enter.We had the BLT with avocado and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Both were quite good and a perfect portion.This is a wonderful location for lunch in the childhood home of one of America’s great authors.
