Safeway Deli - Salinas

Too many young workers worried about their phones and don 't seem to care about greeting customers at checkout. Some of them will actually carry on conversations with the bagger and won 't address the customer up, and until, they have rung up all your items. Customer service is slowly dying.

No carts ever available. Have to walk around the parking lot to find. Nobody EVER present at the seafood area, even when you push the button for assistance no one comes. All the fish and meat do not look fresh, majority not good colors anymore.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! I arrived at 5:30 am this morning for a birthday celebration and quickly got everything I needed. The staff were working hard to prepare produce for the day and were all very friendly despite the early hour. The lady at the register was especially sweet. I appreciated that the produce worker assisted me in the balloon section until another staff member could help me. I love when employees are cross-trained and willing to assist in various areas, rather than saying it's not their job or they don't know how to do something.

We absolutely adore the sushi bar located inside Safeway on N. Main Street in Salinas, California. The sushi chefs are truly exceptional, willing to customize your favorite sushi if it's not already available. Both my daughter and I refuse to go anywhere else when craving sushi. Give it a try, you'll be just as impressed as we are! The entire Safeway team is outstanding.

I love this Safeway location! It is always clean and the customer service is fantastic. When I walked in today, I was immediately asked if I needed help finding anything. The restrooms are always clean, the cashier was very helpful and polite.
