Herbie's On The Park - Saint Paul

Group of 10 on a Wednesday night. Not very busy and had great service by Cece. Food was fabulous and fun happy hour specials too. Stop in if you are downtown St. Paul!

I cannot recommend them for a steak. Our group ordered 10 prime 's and we sent back 7, and two were never eaten. Mine and three others were acceptable but is my statement acceptable? The salmon stole the show though. Our team of servers were extremely attentive. This seems to be the theme in recent reviews, staff over food.

I was with a fairly large group. The service was decent, but the food was not. My steak was unseasoned and chewy, my creamed spinach was dry and bland. The mashed potatoes and crispy fried onions were good, but overall I regret my meal choice. This was my first time here. I’d probably give it one more try, but that’s it.

The only good thing was our server. Risotto spicy(? When it wasn't described as such. Inedible. Pork chop dry and inedible. I asked server to substitute the risotto with brocollini. It was oily and bitter and brown. Disaster. For what this establishment charges you expect good food. Not average food. This wasn't average. They really need to step up their game. We had to go elsewhere to eat. Waste of our time and money.

This is one of those restaurants where Gordon Ramsay goes to and absolutely roasts them. My pork chop was well over cooked maybe microwaved and the chutney on top looked like puke and was sour. I did not finish or pay for it. Zero atmosphere. However the staff were awesome. Ha I think they even knew how bad the food was. Stick to hockey Herb.
